A farmers’ organisation representing the interests and aspirations of arecanut growers and other plantation farmers of Malnad and the Western Ghats region of Karnataka.
C/o DCC Bank, Court Road,
Shivamogga, Karnataka

The Malnad and Western Ghats regions are home to generations of farming families whose livelihoods are closely connected with arecanut, coffee, pepper, paddy, coconut and other plantation and agricultural activities.
These farmers also play an important role in preserving the region’s rural economy, traditional agricultural practices and natural environment.
The Forum was established to provide a collective voice for farmers, protect their legitimate agricultural and livelihood interests, and work towards policies that balance environmental conservation with the rights, welfare and sustainable development of farming communities.
Environmental protection is essential, but it must be achieved through a people-centred, scientific and participatory approach.
Farmers who have lived and cultivated these lands for generations should not be treated as a threat to the environment or be subjected to restrictions without proper consultation, scientific assessment and consideration of their legitimate rights.
